LET US LIE THEN, LIGHTLY, LOVE

LET US LIE THEN, LIGHTLY, LOVE

The short term note the May moon makes

Of spirea, indicates the cost of care,

Which we must lend at discount, and unaware

We spend at all, neglect to check the rates.

The sycophantic teller takes of all

In jotting dates we dare not comprehend. . .

Let us lie then, lightly, Love, to hear when

Blighted petals wake us as they fall.

(Clicking on photos enlarges them.)
